The Gateway Center works to end homelessness, and particularly chronic homelessness, by providing the support and framework people need to achieve self-sufficiency. It commits to programs designed to meet their individual needs- such as mental health support, substance abuse counseling, sustaining employment, or job-readiness and training. Everyone is required to set goals and demonstrate progress towards those goals in order to remain at Gateway.
We will receive our volunteer work assignment once we arrive at the Center. So please join us as we partner together on the guiding principle that homeless individuals can ultimately achieve permanent housing through their own dedicated efforts. Experience the powerful combination of a collaborative process and a foundation of support from the Atlanta Jaycees! Please come early and bring a friend.
When you arrive at the Gateway Center today, ask for Rebecca. She is Gateway's volunteer coordinator, and she will tell us what to do.
- RSVPs are not required, but we encourage you to RSVP via the Meetup.com and Facebook.com event links listed below.
- To attend this volunteer event, please meet us promptly at 2 PM at the Gateway Center on Pryor Street.
